The number of new recognised starups in India have increased to over 14,000 in 2021-22 from only 733 in 2016-17.  While the number of startups have greatly increased, only a small fraction succeeds to design a scalable and sustainable business, or socially impactful institution.  Startup journeys are charecterized by infant mortality—most innovators fail to develop a thriving business.  These innovators face extreme challenges transitioning from their idea to a commercially viable product.    The purpose of IIITB-IC is to support innovators on their way to building thriving enterprises in the earliest and hardest part of the journey—we call it pre-incubation and incubation.  Our vision is to contribute to India’s economic development and social wellbeing by improving the survival and growth of new tech ventures.
